the sale and installation of our product range. On successful
completion of the course, all Actisense Accredited Installers
are listed on our website.
A common question I am asked on the support desk is
if I can recommend a local installer. The course enables us
to advise on other approved installers beyond our main distributor network so that end users can find local help if
needed. This means installation support for Actisense products is even more accessible.
Q: Are the students in the NMEA 2000 program marine

installers—or do they work for manufacturers and boat
A: So far attendees on the course have been from distributors, dealers and independent installers, though the course
is also open to manufacturers and boat builders.
Q: How many students have completed the program?
What has the response been?
A: There has been a lot of interest in the program with
many people joining our mailing lists. I speak to people
who want to know more about the courses at every trade
show I attend.
However, with the UK marine industry flourishing, as it
is at the moment, it’s often difficult for those that have

Q: What’s ahead for your training plans?
A: Some future plans have been mentioned here with the

KVH Superyacht Group tees up concierge service
VH is moving quickly to achieve its goal of
becoming king of the hill in providing connectivity, content and concierge service to the
superyacht set for satellite-based communications and TV entertainment at sea. Making sure
all of this happens as advertised is a new seven-person team
appropriately named KVH Superyacht Group (SYG).
The target audience consists of KVH clients with power
or sailing yachts over 24 meters—about 79 feet. “We put
owners of superyachts into a special group to take care of
their needs,” says Jim George, Senior Director of Global
Leisure Sales. He stresses that the owner, captain, electronics
technology officer or charter client has to make only one call
to get assistance or answers.
Spearheading the effort are
(r-l) Jim George, Rebecca
Mouligné, Steve Gorman,
Darryl Matfin, Andrew Bush,
and Paolo Belluomini. Others
will be added in the EMEA
(Europe, Middle East, Africa)
and APAC (Asia-Pacific)
regions as needs develop.
