Broadband Radar
The BR24 Broadband Radar provides
excellent target definition and separation in close quarters. With range resolution of less than 3 meters, the BR24
eliminates close-in vessel blind
spot (main bang), resulting in
clear and detailed views of
surroundings to a 1/32 nautical mile range scale. The
radome transmits at 1/20,000
the power of traditional radar
(less than 1/10th the energy of
a cell phone) and emits no
harmful radiation outside the dome,
allowing for flexible installation on a
vessel. Other features include advanced
clutter rejection, which virtually eliminates tuning; rapid cold start and
InstantOn from standby, which eliminates time-wasting warm-up; and low
power consumption.

pounds and has an easy-to-route 0.5-

Plotting Aid). A target can be shown in a
zoom display while its detailed movements
are tracked by AIS or ARPA. A conventional
zoom function is available as well. These
radars also feature true color targets and utilize different colors according to target
strengths, which helps discriminate target
echoes from clutter.
The 10. 4 inch color LCD display tops a
list of features. Furuno’s True View is a display mode based on the Head-Up mode with
a smoothing effect added. It eliminates any
delay in picture update when you make a
quick turn. The radar image is smoothly
rotated and follows quick heading changes
even between the sweeps. In True View
mode, there is no time lag between the radar
image and what’s happening on the water
around the boat.
